About the Cattle IFS

The Cattle IFS Management Committee manages the scheme and funds levied through it under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007. In conjunction with the cattle industry, the Cattle IFS Management Committee determines which pest and disease threats require action, how best to deal with the threats and what contributions will be needed from industry to tackle the problem. This allows producers to raise funds to self-manage priority pests and diseases that may affect the viability and sustainability of their industry.

The Cattle IFS Management Committee authorises expenditure of scheme funds for activities including:

  • The provision of, or the promotion and encouragement of scientific research to improve cattle health and production; or
  • Any other purpose that, in the opinion of the Management Committee, will promote support and encourage the WA cattle industry.

The Committee is now inviting expressions of interest for grants to support biosecurity-related research and innovation projects that will benefit the Western Australian cattle industry.
